As the Indonesia focal point of the APEC Sub-Committee on Customs Procedures (SCCP), Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE) has attended the APEC SCCP1 Virtual Plenary Meeting from 15 to 17 February 2022. APEC SCCP1 Virtual Plenary Meeting was chaired by Mr. Chaiyut Kumkun from Thailand Customs Department. The meeting was attended by representatives of Customs administrations from 21 APEC member economies as well as other international organizations, such as WCO Regional Office Asia Pacific, UNCTAD, and Oceania Customs Organisations (OCO). In addition, one country Colombia attended the meeting as guest.
Anita Iskandar , the Director of International Cooperation of Customs and Excise (KSIKC), led the Indonesia delegation which also consisted of the Deputy Director of International Cooperation of Customs and Excise II Fitra Krisdianto, Head of Multilateral Cooperation Section III Achmad Hidayat, and number of staffs. This year APEC’s theme is: Open, Connect, Balance, in which APEC SCCP is a forum to fulfil the commitments of APEC Leaders and Ministers related to customs matters. SCCP has also adopted several guiding principles, namely: facilitation, accountability, consistency, transparency and simplification.
The Indonesian economy had the opportunity to deliver a presentation in SCCP, entitled: Embracing Gender Equality and Diversity in Indonesia Customs which was delivered by the Head of Multilateral Cooperation Section I, I Gusti Ayu Ari Tiastary whilst she is also as a member of the Gender Mainstreaming Taskforce (PUG) in DGCE Headquarters.
